Marine Accident Investigation
This four day course has been successfully delivered by Cranfield University worldwide and will be led by Professor Graham Braithwaite, the Head of the Department of Air Transport at Cranfield University, UK. The course will cover the purpose of accident and incident investigations. It will look at legal and moral responsibilities, the legislative / regulatory requirements of ICAO Annex 13 Preparation and preliminary actions. Students on the course will consider best practise in pre-event preparation and contingency planning. In today’s media savvy world the important aspects around internal & external communications and media relations and planning will be considered. The course will also cover human performance investigations, errors versus violations, organisational factors and witness behaviour. There will be an exercise in major investigation case study. A full day will also be devoted to when to ‘stop an investigation’ and developing recommendations. InstructorTwo technical training instructors experienced in accident investigation training from Cranfield University Safety and Accident Investigation Centre.
